1 day Yoga Immersion

One-Day Autumn Equinox Yoga Immersion

Release • Restore • Renew

A One-Day Autumn Equinox Yoga Immersion is an opportunity to step away from the demands and distractions of everyday life and spend an intentional day caring for your body, calming your mind, and reconnecting with yourself and the natural world.

Held during or near the Autumn Equinox, this immersion takes place at a meaningful seasonal transition. The equinox occurs as summer gives way to autumn and day and night are approximately equal in length. It offers a natural invitation to reflect on balance, transition, gratitude, and letting go.

Just as nature begins to slow down and release what is no longer needed, we can use this day to pause, take stock of what we have cultivated, and consider what we are ready to carry forward—and what we may be ready to release.

Yoga & the Practice of Balance

Our gentle Slow Flow Yoga practice will reflect the qualities of the season: grounding, stability, balance, and mindful transition.

We will move slowly and intentionally, connecting movement with breath and allowing time to experience each posture rather than rushing toward the next.

Balancing poses can take on special meaning near the equinox. As we explore physical balance, we can also become curious about balance in our lives:

Where am I giving too much?
Where do I need more space?
What restores me?
What am I ready to release?

The goal is not to find perfect balance, but to notice how we continually adjust and return to center.

Breathwork & Mindfulness

Guided breathing and mindfulness practices will help quiet mental chatter and bring awareness to the present moment.

The changing season provides a beautiful theme for meditation: noticing change without needing to resist it.

We can observe the breath in much the same way we observe autumn arriving—one moment at a time.

Nourishing Plant-Based Autumn Meal

A thoughtfully prepared vegan meal featuring seasonal foods becomes part of the mindfulness practice.

Autumn vegetables, grains, fruits, herbs, and warming flavors can celebrate the abundance of the harvest season while providing a nourishing and satisfying meal.

Rather than eating hurriedly, we will practice mindful eating—pausing to appreciate the colors, aromas, textures, and flavors of our food.

The meal also provides an opportunity for gratitude: acknowledging the earth, the people who grow and prepare our food, and the simple experience of sharing a meal together.

Autumn Forest Bathing

Perhaps one of the most meaningful parts of an Autumn Equinox immersion is spending time among the trees.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing invites us to enter nature slowly and experience it through our senses rather than treating our walk as exercise or a destination to reach.

Autumn provides a particularly powerful setting.

Leaves begin changing color.
The light becomes softer.
The air becomes cooler.
Seeds fall.
Plants begin withdrawing their energy inward.

The forest becomes a visible reminder that change, release, and rest are natural parts of life.

During our walk, we may spend periods in silence, listen to the wind moving through the trees, notice the changing colors, feel the earth beneath our feet, and simply allow ourselves to be present.

Reflection: What Am I Ready to Release?

The equinox offers a natural opportunity for personal reflection.

Participants may be invited to quietly consider:

What has this year brought into my life?

What am I grateful for?

What am I carrying that I no longer need?

What would I like to make room for during the months ahead?

There is no need to find immediate answers. Sometimes simply creating space for these questions is enough.

Restorative Yoga & Deep Rest

As afternoon moves toward evening, our practice becomes quieter.

Gentle Restorative Yoga allows the body to be supported while encouraging stillness and relaxation.

The immersion concludes with an extended Savasana or guided meditation, allowing time to absorb the experiences of the day before returning home.

The Meaning of the Autumn Equinox

The Autumn Equinox reminds us that nature does not remain in a constant state of growth.

There are seasons for creating and accomplishing, and there are seasons for slowing down, reflecting, releasing, and resting.

Autumn invites us to recognize both.

This One-Day Yoga Immersion uses the natural transition of the season as a backdrop for reconnecting with ourselves through movement, breath, mindfulness, nourishing food, nature, reflection, and rest.

It is not about becoming someone different.

It is about creating enough quiet to notice where you are now—and deciding intentionally how you would like to move into the season ahead.

A Day to. . .

Move with intention.
Breathe deeply.
Eat mindfully.
Walk slowly.
Notice nature.
Practice gratitude.
Release what no longer serves you.
Rest deeply.
Return to balance.

As the season changes around us, we give ourselves permission to change with it.
